Brown Dog Deli

One of the best sandwiches we've had, highly recommend! Funky and cool atmosphere in the University area. We got the Rosemary's Baby Daddy (pictured) and Cracker Barrel Club.

I love Brown Dog Deli!!! My office is closer to East Bay so I'm not often near, but when I have an appointment on the Westside, I am HERE. Everything I've had has been amazing. Fried Green Tomato BLT was the most recent - I don't even like fried green tomatoes, and this was amazing!!! I've had the rosemary one too. Vibes here are incredible. It's cozy and chaotic and everything I want in a local deli. AND THEY HAVE DIRTY SODAS. Say less. This place is heaven!!!!

Seriously so good!!! This place is such a great Charleston staple. Easy and quick lunch place. The staff is very friendly and very attentive (bringing your food to your table when its ready and clearing plates when finished). They have SO many good sandwiches and wraps. Also try their smoothies. Pretty well priced especially for Charleston. Definitely give this place a try you wont be disappointed.

I’m new to Charleston, so I by Brown Dog Brewing not really sure what I was in the mood for. Sofie (or maybe Sophie—I should have asked her how she spells it!) helped me out and recommended the Toast Ma G.O.A.T.S. Amazing call — it was legit one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a while. She was super chill, helpful without overdoing it, and just made the whole experience easy. Cool spot, great vibes, and service that doesn’t try too hard — in the best way. Will definitely be back.

There were 4 of us and we all ordered differently. I had paradise panini and it was amazing. My mother had the folly crunch wrap and she said it was delicious. My aunt had the notorious blt, which I tried and I have to say it was by far the best blt I’ve ever ate !!!!! My other aunt had the Greek chicken salad and said it was scrumptious! Recommend eating here if you can!! Everyone was so nice and the atmosphere was inviting and welcoming. We were able to have conversation and laugh without feeling like we were to loud. The radio plays but not so loud you can’t talk normally. It’s a fun place!!!!

This is the most amazing little place food is great. Smoothies and sandwiches alike. What is really cool is the vintage feel. It so like an 80’s and 90’s museum in there. From garbage pail kids to games to old corded phones. It was a cool place with good food and a great vibe.

Fantastic food for a great price. The service was a little slow and disorganized but the Wes’ French Onion Grilled Cheese served with au jus was so good it didn’t matter and was worth the wait. Excellent menu variety, and the place has a great atmosphere with good music and decorations on every wall.

80s themed deli! The wall are covered in movie posters, classic games, game cartridges and even old cell phones. The food is a little pricey but the quality of ingredients, flavor craft and portions match how much they are charging. All sides are separate which is a bit annoying, but that is my only complaint. While most if the cliental is made of college students and locals they are very dog friendly and while the space is tight they will accommodate wheelchairs and strollers happily. The bathroom even has a full sized wooden baby changing table! I had the daily special soup and sandwich. Which was amazing. My host always gets the turkey & jam sandwich which balanced the sweet & savory with goat cheese and bitter arugula perfectly. I want to go back and try the BLT and their java date peanutbutter chocolate shake. Update: the java shake was bitter from the chocolate & coffee balanced with the sweet from the banana, date and coconut milk, but not sugar sweet. I loved it. While the blt was THE BEST blt I have ever had. And that is a go to order for me. I have had pimento blts I have had roasted tomato blts but never a pimento fried green tomato blt on what tasted like scratch made Texas toast! Id prefer arugula to cut the richness of the pimento, fry & bacon, but the lettuce was still great quality.
